I am Dr. Tamás Kőhalmi, the founder and clinical director of Dent-A-Lux. I graduated in 1994 from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University in Szeged. Afterward, I began working at the Oral Surgery and Dental Clinic of my alma mater. As aesthetic dentistry has always been close to my heart, I wrote my thesis on related research, continuing with further studies alongside patient care and teaching.
In recognition of my work, in 1995, I received the award from the European division of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the world’s most prestigious society supporting dental research. In 1996, I gave a lecture at the IADR international congress in San Francisco. Thanks to this and our published works, in 1997 I was invited to the European headquarters of a major American dental company in Konstanz, while also presenting our results at the Dentists of the World symposium as the only Hungarian speaker. That same year, I earned my specialist certification in Dental and Oral Diseases. In 1998, I had the honor of being invited to one of Europe’s most prestigious universities, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Meanwhile, I continued to practice, working at Schweizer Zahnarzt, in Sopron, and later in Hévíz. Like so many others, I met my future wife during this time.
Choosing to stay close to my family, I moved to Kecskemét and founded Dent-A-Lux Dental Specialist Clinic in 2000, where I continue to work today. My goal and motto have remained unchanged – to offer high-quality care at an affordable price to our patients. Perhaps this is why, since 2007, I have been a member of the ITI (International Team for Implantology), one of the world’s largest implantology associations. For two consecutive years, I have also had the honor of being invited to the European Roundtable, organized by Kerr, a major manufacturer of aesthetic dental materials.
In time, my focus has shifted from traditional treatments to the interdisciplinary and complex procedures of aesthetic dentistry. As a result, most of our treatments today involve complex cosmetic and functional rehabilitation of bone, soft tissue, and tooth defects. These treatments are highly dependent on technology, materials, and techniques, which makes continuous learning and staying up-to-date essential.
